Loathe have just released their new track ‘Dimorphus Display‘, which sounds very Deftones-esque from the get-go!

The metalcore four piece from Liverpool dropped the audio video onto YouTube on Thursday (6th January) and it is instantly memorable. The track starts off with some haunting sound effects, before kicking in with a thumping guitar riff. This is definitely a right step musically for Loathe, as the song progresses so quickly yet effortlessly throughout.

This is the first release for Loathe since their feature on Blanket’s track ‘In Awe’ last summer.

The track appears to speak lyrically of a now failed romantic relationship, with the track being a personal yet honest reflection of that.

The band spoke of the song stating ‘Dimorphous Display, in its first iteration, had been in the vault for a good few years before we decided to start work on the song together as a band – so finally being able to release it into the world feels like a great accomplishment. The initial demo was filed soon after we had finished up with ‘I Let It In And It Took Everything’ but with lockdowns occurring across the world, this gave us the opportunity to experiment with different collaborators and thus final tracking was completed some time in the middle of 2021 at Giant Wafer Studios. We worked alongside our new friend Eddie Al-Shakarchi on capturing the rawest incarnation of the Loathe sound to date and we are very happy with the result.

Loathe are also due to go out on tour with Code Orange in North America, starting in Detroit on the 3rd April 2022 at the Magic Stick.
