Rammstein have just dropped their first single in three years ‘Zeit‘, accompanied by news of an upcoming album of the same name!

The industrial metal group from Berlin, Germany revealed the official music video for the track last night (March 10), which was directed by Robert Gwisdek. The visuals depict vocalist Till Lindemann and the rest of the band underwater, before managing to hoist themselves out into a paddle boat. Other scenes include what appears to be them at war, hiding in cover armed with guns. The lyrics speak of being stuck in a beautiful moment, with the band themselves stating that the song ‘deals with with transience, our mortality and the precious, fleeting happiness of the perfect moment.’

This is definitely a step away from the energetic, riff heavy music of Rammstein’s past, but ‘Time’ (the English translation) is a beautiful reminder to enjoy the precious moments that we have; with the chorus reading in English ‘Time / Please stand still, stand still / Time / This should keep going forever / Time / It’s so nice, so nice / Everybody knows / The perfect moment.’

This is the first single taken from their upcoming eighth studio album of the same name, which is expected for release on April 29, 2022 via Universal Records. This is their first release in three years, since the album ‘Rammstein’ back in 2019. ‘Zeit’ is set to be a LP with a total of 11 tracks, which has been produced by Sven Helbig (who has previously worked with the Pet Shop Boys). The cover artwork for the release has also been revealed to have been photographed by none other than Canadian singer/songwriter Bryan Adams. Check out the official artwork below!

Following the release of ‘Zeit’, Rammstein are set to head out on a UK/EU tour, kicking off in Prague on May 15, before ceasing in Ostend’s Park De Nieuwe Koers on August 4. They also have a couple of dates booked in the UK, hitting Coventry’s Building Society Arena on June 26 and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on June 30 (which you can still get tickets for here!)

They are also set to tour North America, touring cities such as Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles and Mexico City, spanning from August 21 to October 4.
