Spiritbox have just unexpectedly dropped a brand new 3-track EP!
The new release from the Canadian trio features tracks ‘Rotoscope‘, ‘Sew Me Up‘ and ‘Hysteria‘, breaking away from their heavy metalcore image in ‘Eternal Blue’, released in September last year. The initial track has also been released with an official music video, as well as visualisers for the other two.
Vocalist Courtney LaPlante said; ‘The new songs are really different to the songs onĀ Eternal Blue. I think some people might even hate them. But that makes me excited. I thrive on negativity!’
Guitarist Mike Stringer also spoke of Spiritbox’s new era, stating; ‘As scary as it is, you just have to do what makes you happy, create the music you want to create, and work with the people you want to work with. Because the moment you start limiting yourself, the music suffers.’
Spiritbox have had a huge month so far, from playing a packed out Avalanche Stage at Download Festival to playing two debut sold out UK shows at the 02 Academy Islington in London. They have also been cast into the limelight, following the appearance of 10-year old Harper Jerret on America’s Got Talent with her cover of their iconic song ‘Holy Roller’ – becoming a viral sensation overnight!
Spiritbox are set to continue on with their spree of festival appearances throughout the summer, including Hellfest and Resurrection Festival. They are also due to go on tour with Ghost and Mastodon across North America, beginning in San Diego, California on August 26.
