The Amity Affliction have just dropped their emotional new track ‘Give Up The Ghost‘.

The Australian metalcore powerhouse are back with a vengeance with this raw and honest release!

Following on from previous track ‘Like Love‘, ‘Give Up the Ghost’ talks lyrically about vocalist Joel Birch’s struggle with depression and mental health.

Birch discussed the track stating ‘It turns out everything is faster and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records. The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song so it all came together quickly which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good.’

This new track incorporates some of the band’s previously used musical elements, such as a math rock inspired guitar riff throughout, accompanied by Birch’s striking vocal lines.

The Amity Affliction are due to embark on an Australian tour in January/February 2022. The tour begins in Tarwin Lower for the Unity Gathering on the 20th January, before finishing in Kensington on the 19th February 2022.
