Following the release of ‘Oldest Daughter’ last month, The Wonder Years have just revealed their beautiful brand-new acoustic track ‘Summer Clothes‘.

This is now the fifth single to be released from the Pennsylvanian pop-punkers, since their EP ‘Burst & Decay (Volume II)’ in 2020. ‘Oldest Daughter’ and ‘Summer Clothes’ are both tracks from their upcoming seventh studio album to be revealed later this year. ‘Summer Clothes’ gives us a real hit of nostalgia and is a real song of reflection.

According to vocalist Dan Campbell, the song talks lyrically about a more negative time in his life and how he feels like he has changed for the better in more recent years; ‘It’s a love letter to a time when your sadness was most conspicuous by its momentary absence, when the low hum quieted enough for you to realise it was nearly gone, when you did stupid, dangerous shit because, well, why not?

The Wonder Years are set to play a show at Bournemouth’s Old Fire Station on June 1, before hitting up Slam Dunk Festival and When We Were Young Festival later in the year.
